77 Salamanders

I read recently that there are over 77 species of salamanders that call my native Appalachia home. That’s the most diverse population of salamanders in one ecosystem in the world! Many of them are found exclusively in Appalachia and even more are endangered due to climate change and habitat destruction.

So I’m setting out to draw 77 species of salamanders. Because every single one gives me cuteness aggression. Because they’re weird little creatures from Appalachia like me. Because they deserve to be known and protected. And because 77 Salamanders is a really satisfying alliteration.
